The assistant director for Middlebrook Playschool oversees daily operations, supporting the director with staff management, curriculum planning, and ensuring a safe, compliant environment. The role also involves ensuring the facility meets safety and licensing regulations and stepping in to lead the center when the director is absent.
Core responsibilities
- Staff management: Assist in hiring, training, and supervising childcare staff, including performance evaluation and handling staff issues.
- Curriculum and program development:Contribute to creating and implementing age-appropriate, educational activities and lesson plans that adhere to state standards.
- Administrative duties: Manage paperwork, maintain records (attendance, enrollment, billing), and communicate with parents about their children's progress and center events.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure the facility is safe, clean, and compliant with all federal, state, and local licensing regulations and protocols.
- Day-to-day operations: Oversee the daily schedule, manage classroom ratios, and step in to work with children or staff as needed.
