PSYCHIATRIST
This position will be located at our North Campus, 5351 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63112. The facility is a 100-bed forensic inpatient state psychiatric hospital with 4 units (25 beds per unit). The average length of stay for our patients is between 6-9 months. We focus on competency restoration for patients who have been found incompetent to stand trial. These patients may have a major mental illness, a brain injury, an intellectual disability, or a medical illness that causes them to be unable to assist in the legal proceedings against them.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
u Collaborate with the unit PMHNP to diagnose and prescribe psychiatric medication for 25 patients.
u Develop and implement psychiatric treatment plans and monitor for effectiveness.
u Work together with an interdisciplinary team including internal medical providers, social workers, psychologists, dieticians, pharmacists, and rehabilitation specialists to restore patients to competency.

Board-certified or board-eligible adult psychiatrist.
