Job Overview
Our company is looking for a reliable, experienced independent semi-truck driver to transport goods regionally between our warehouses in Upstate, SC. The warehouses are 68 miles apart, an estimated 1 hr and 20 min drive time. As a business partner, you will manage your own schedule, ensure timely and safe deliveries, and maintain excellent compliance with DOT regulations. We require these inventory transfer transports once or twice per month. The inventory items being moved will consist of dry goods, plastic products. Loads will need to be transported in weatherproof, dry-van semi-trailers to and from warehouses.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Rate: Flat rate, $600 per transport
- Payment Terms: Various, flexible methods. Will be discussed at time of hire.
- Perks: Short trip. Loads are most often loaded and unloaded in around 40 minutes or so, making each transport a "quick job."
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial tractor-trailer.
- Perform thorough pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections.
- Manage and secure freight to prevent shifting or damage.
- Maintain accurate logging of records and Hours of Service (HOS) logs.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery statuses or delays.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no DUIs in the past 7 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable OTR experience.
- Ability to pass DOT drug screening and physical and hold a valid medical card.
- Reliable equipment: Truck must have passed the most recent annual DOT inspection.
Pay: $600.00 per day
