DocCare is an established primary care and multi-specialty medical practice with locations in Queens and Hauppauge, NY. We provide compassionate, high-quality healthcare to our patients. The Phone Operator will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service by managing all incoming and outgoing calls. The individual will assist patients by answering inquiries, scheduling appointments, and directing calls to the appropriate departments. The Phone Operator must demonstrate professionalism, patience, and strong communication skills to ensure the highest level of customer service and patient satisfaction. This position will rotate throughout our locations, as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and manage all incoming calls promptly and courteously.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.
- Provide general information about DocCare’s services, locations, and operating hours.
- Direct calls to the appropriate departments or personnel as needed.
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve issues or escalate to the relevant department when necessary.
- Ensure all patient information is handled with confidentiality and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions in the system.
- Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate smooth communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Respond to voicemails and follow up on any outstanding patient concerns.
- Provide outstanding customer service with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Other related duties as assigned
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred. 2 years in a customer service or administrative role required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Must have strong organizational and multitasking skills, with high level attention to detail in all administrative aspects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Our office hours are generally Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to approximately 8 PM, Saturdays from 9 AM to 7:00 PM and Sundays from 9AM to 4PM.
The staff schedule is updated weekly, and availability to work these hours is a requirement for this position.
