We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in a primary care practice. In this role, you will work closely with the Medical Provider, who sees approximately 16 -18 patients per day. Experience with EMR, prior authorizations through CoverMyMeds, primary care practices and medications is essential.
As a Medical Assistant, under the direction of the Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care that ensures the safety and well-being of all patients. You will perform a variety of tasks, including taking vitals, assisting with procedures, administering medications, and maintaining a clean and orderly office environment. You’ll also be tasked with managing patient care and communicating with patients regarding test results and care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general patient care following established standards and procedures.
- Greet and prepare patients for the healthcare provider.
- Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications.
- Administer medications and/or vaccines injection, topical, and inhalant administration as ordered.
- Conduct routine tests (e.g., EKGs).
- Schedule diagnostic testing for patients and follow up to ensure completion.
- Communicate test results and care plans to patients via phone or mail as directed by the physician.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments; maintain equipment; keep patient exam rooms clean and well-stocked; dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.
- Document patient tests and examination results in the medical record.
- Escalate non-routine issues, questions, and concerns to the provider(s).
- Complete required safety checklists and quality control measures.

- Strong computer skills, especially with EMR.
- High level of professionalism and work ethic.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
