Position Overview:
The Physician Liaison is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with referring physicians, medical offices, and healthcare organizations to drive referrals, enhance the practice's reputation, and promote its services. This role serves as a critical link between the practice and the medical community, ensuring effective communication, education, and collaboration to improve patient care and support practice growth. Must be able and willing to travel to locations in the southwest Florida region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Relationship Development & Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians, specialists, and healthcare providers to promote the practice’s services and foster a collaborative network.
- Act as the primary point of contact for referring physicians, ensuring they have the information and support needed to refer patients effectively.
2. Referral Growth & Retention:
- Identify opportunities to increase referrals from new and existing physician relationships by educating physicians about the practice’s specialties, services, and capabilities.
- Track and report on referral trends, working closely with practice leadership to identify growth opportunities and address any challenges or gaps in referral volume.
3. Internal Collaboration:
- Work closely with the practice’s clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth patient transitions from referral to treatment, addressing any questions or concerns from physicians and patients alike.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create materials that effectively communicate the practice’s offerings and unique value proposition to referring physicians.
4. Community Engagement & Networking:
- Attend local medical conferences, networking events, and professional association meetings to strengthen the practice's presence within the healthcare community.
- Stay informed about regional healthcare trends and physician needs to better align the practice’s services with community demands.
5. Feedback & Communication:
- Gather feedback from referring physicians to understand their satisfaction levels and areas for improvement in the referral process.
- Act as an advocate for referring physicians and ensure their concerns and feedback are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
6. Reporting & Metrics:
- Track physician engagement, referral volumes, and other key performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts.
- Provide regular reports to management on referral trends, new physician partnerships, and other business development activities.
Key Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare, business development, or sales role, preferably in a medical practice or specialty field.
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems, referral processes, and physician networks.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to effectively engage and influence physicians and medical office staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with CRM software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able and willing to travel to offices in the southwest coast territory of Florida
