We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations and patient history reviews.
- Prescribe and manage medications for mental health conditions in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and DEA regulations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, medication management, and other therapeutic interventions.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as KIPU or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide telehealth services when necessary to expand access to mental health care for diverse populations.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with valid state licensure.
- Proven experience working with behavioral health patients across age groups.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration and monitoring.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, KIPU or Athenahealth for medical documentation and patient management.
- Experience in crisis intervention, triage and inpatient or outpatient psychiatric settings.
- Ability to perform physical examinations related to mental health assessments and manage complex cases involving comorbidities like substance use or chronic illnesses.
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on culturally competent care and confidentiality adhering to HIPAA standards.
