Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician I will install, repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment such as electrical controls, electrical/servo motors, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotic, and Programmable Logic Controller equipment. This position is a level I and entry level or basic mechanical skills are required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Install power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, presses, and Programmable Logic Controllers.
2. Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
3. Diagnose and test malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, controls and lighting fixtures and replace damaged or broken wires, cables, and parts.
4. Escalate complex issues to more experienced Maintenance Technicians and/or the Maintenance Coordinator.
5. Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electrical components, such as printed circuit boards.
6. Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.
7. Program automated machinery such as robots and PLC's; test for malfunctions and verify repairs.
8. Plan layout of wiring, install wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus in buildings.
9. Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Communicate tasks completed to Team Leaders and Supervisors before leaving area.
10. Continue to enhance mechanical skills and aptitude.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. One year certificate from college or technical school; and six months or more of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, company training and experience.
2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
3. May be required to have/obtain licenses to operate powered industrial trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or other types of equipment used to facilitate equipment repairs and accessibility.
4. Prefer candidates who have a mechanical and electrical background and who have worked in a manufacturing environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This position performs work in a manufacturing environment and performs maintenance work while on the production floor. While performing the job responsibilities, the Team Member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. There is a high noise level throughout the plant and hearing protection must be worn at all times on the production floor. Other proper protective equipment (PPE) is also required at all times on the production floor. The Team Member is regularly exposed to hot and cold temperatures. The Team Member may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and chemicals.
Physical Demands:
Remaining standing for prolonged periods. Working with equipment for prolonged periods. Uses hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
