Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, promote oral health, and support the overall efficiency of our dental team. Duties
- Perform dental cleanings, periodontal probing including scaling, root planing and polishing teeth to remove plaque and calculus buildup
- Taking digital dental radiographs as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Assist with patient examinations and record keeping using Dental Office Management Software such as Open Dental
- Support the dental team during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Manage recall patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and treatment plans
- Maintain a sterile environment by adhering to infection control protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, including bilingual support if applicable
- Assist with pediatric patients and adapt techniques accordingly for a gentle experience
- Collaborate with dentists and dental assistants to ensure smooth clinic operations
Skills
- Proficiency in Open Dental or similar dental practice management software
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations but not mandatory
- Experience in dental assisting or related roles within a dental office setting
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry techniques and patient care approaches for children
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients of all ages
- Understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and oral health care
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
- Have laser certification for laser therapy
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
