Commercial Interior Construction Estimator
Diversified Ceilings Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Interior Construction Estimator to join our team in Williamstown, New Jersey.
Established in 1992, Diversified Ceilings is a commercial interior contractor serving New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New York, and Virginia. Our work includes acoustical ceilings, specialty ceilings, metal stud framing, drywall, FRP, wall protection, doors and hardware, toilet partitions, window treatments, and finish carpentry.
This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who can review construction documents, complete accurate takeoffs, prepare competitive proposals, and help carry projects from bidding through project handoff.
Responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents
- Perform accurate digital material and labor takeoffs
- Prepare complete estimates for commercial interior construction projects
- Estimate acoustical ceilings, specialty ceilings, metal framing, drywall, FRP, wall protection, doors, frames, hardware, toilet partitions, accessories, window treatments, and finish carpentry
- Obtain and review supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Identify scope gaps, conflicts, and potential change-order items
- Prepare detailed proposals, clarifications, exclusions, and alternates
- Maintain bid deadlines and follow up on submitted proposals
- Communicate with general contractors, suppliers, project managers, and field personnel
- Assist with project handoff after an awarded bid
- Maintain organized estimating files, pricing information, and bid records
- Develop relationships with new and existing customers
Required Qualifications
- Commercial construction estimating experience or closely related experience
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications
- Understanding of commercial construction materials, labor, and installation methods
- Strong mathematical, computer, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to identify missing or conflicting scope
- Reliable transportation and ability to work from our Williamstown, NJ office
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of commercial construction estimating experience
- Experience estimating Division 9 commercial interior scopes
- Experience with acoustical ceilings, drywall, and metal stud framing
- Experience using digital takeoff and estimating software
- Experience working for a commercial subcontractor
- Existing relationships with general contractors and construction suppliers
- Previous field, project management, or superintendent experience in commercial interiors
We are also willing to consider an experienced commercial drywall or ceiling project manager, superintendent, or field supervisor who has strong plan-reading skills and is ready to move into a full-time estimating position.

Compensation
Competitive salary based on commercial estimating experience, industry knowledge, and demonstrated ability.
