To support our growth and maintain our outstanding service levels we need, this position will be onsite at our Houston office.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Warehouse Manager plays a critical role at Williams Valve, overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, logistics, shipping, and receiving. The mission of the Warehouse Manager is to ensure efficient and effective warehouse operations, optimize inventory levels, manage associates, collaborate on ERP implementations, and maintain a safe and organized environment. This role involves collaboration with the Director of Operations, Logistics Coordinator, and Inside Sales teams. The ideal candidate will be a leader focused on safety, efficiency, and leading their team toward greater productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of industrial valve products to meet customer demand and ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Optimize inventory levels and accuracy through effective inventory management practices, including cycle counting, reconciliation, and replenishment strategies.
- Support the company’s ongoing ERP implementation and process improvements, ensuring warehouse workflows and inventory data are accurately incorporated into the new system.
- Collaborate with Operations, Logistics, Inside Sales, and Procurement to coordinate inventory needs, order priorities, and timely fulfillment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a safe working environment for staff and visitors.
- Develop and implement warehouse processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and accuracy, while reducing costs and waste.
- Lead and motivate warehouse staff, providing training, coaching, and career development opportunities to drive high performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including inside sales, logistics, and procurement, to support business objectives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve warehouse performance metrics, including order accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory turnover.
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes to ensure accurate and timely handling of incoming and outgoing orders.
- Manage direct reports, with regular touchpoints for coaching and development.
- Lead the team by presence and example, conducting daily huddles, weekly meetings, and monthly development discussions.
Key Requirements:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently in a fast-paced, high-ambition environment.
- Minimum of 4 years working in a warehouse environment with a consistent track record of performance.
- High school diploma or college degree
- Experience in warehouse management within industrial manufacturing or distribution sectors.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills to identify and resolve warehouse issues.
Technical Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Smartsheet project management software is a plus.
- Knowledge of ERP reimplementation a plus
- ISO9001 standards a plus
