American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring PA or compact RN licensure and proficiency with CRRT/CVVHD, IABPs, and Impellas.

Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a teaching hospital
-
Care for postoperative heart surgery patients including CABG and valve procedures
-
Patient ratio of 1:2-3
-
Rotating schedule with 3x12 hour Day shifts (0645-1915) and Night shifts (1845-0715)
-
Schedule may include a mix of day and night shifts within the same week based on unit staffing needs
-
Every other weekend requirement (Fri, Sat, Sun)

One holiday coverage required
-
No on-call requirements
-
May float to any Adult ICU or Telemetry unit if census allows and assignment is appropriate

Uses Epic charting system
-
Active RN license (PA state or Compact) required at time of consideration

BSN required
-
Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
-
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience required
-
Epic charting system experience required
-
Must be proficient with CRRT/CVVHD, hemodynamic monitoring, IABPs, and Impellas
-
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
-
Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
-
Knowledge of cardiac drip titration and vasoactive drip management
-
Valid references and copies of certifications required for consideration
-
First-time travelers accepted with required 2 years of specialty experience

Provide critical care nursing to postoperative cardiac surgery patients and other CVICU cases

Responsible for hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and administration of cardiac and vasoactive medications
-
Navy blue scrub color required
-
Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate consideration

Local candidates accepted at a different rate

Fingerprinting and background clearance requirements apply for those working in Pennsylvania
-
Pass/Fail clinical exam required for clearance with a maximum of 3 attempts
