We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Physical Therapist to join our team.
Approximately 2 days a week.
Position Overview:
Comprehensive services include evaluation, planning, therapeutic activities and interventions, multi-disciplinary teamwork, counseling, referrals and education of families and professionals to assist children to fully participate in their educational experiences.
- Provide direct and consultative services to young children based on their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)/ IFSP ages may vary - 5 years old-17 years old.
- Participate in team meetings to contribute to students' physical therapy plans and ensure best practices.
- Consult with teachers, educational assistants, and other specialists to develop and implement individualized goals.
- Provide training and guidance on the use of adaptive equipment and techniques to support students' developmental progress in both the classroom and home environments.
- Maintain documentation, progress reports, and activity logs to ensure compliance with state, federal, and administrative regulations.
- Offer services across multiple sites if needed, supporting students in various school locations.
- Evaluate disorders and delays that affect students’ ability to perform daily activities and reach their educational goals
- Participates as a contributing member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and Individual Education
Planning (IEP) meetings. Family conferences, etc. Develops IEP goals in collaboration with the team
- Completes required written documentation including daily notes, monthly reports, and quarterly progress notes in accordance with school/program standards.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Must hold a Physical Therapy license in the state of Michigan.
- Skills: Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to manage a caseload with diverse needs, especially young children with developmental challenges.
- Knowledge of the State of Michigan Special Education Rules and IDEA 2004 requirements.
- Ability to work as a team member and to work independently.
