Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process retail sales transactions swiftly and securely
- Greet customers warmly, providing excellent customer service through friendly communication and professional phone etiquette
- Assist customers with product inquiries, including conducting product demos when appropriate to enhance their shopping experience
- Upsell relevant products and promotions to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Manage cash handling responsibilities with precision, including balancing registers and ensuring accurate cash flow throughout shifts
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining an attractive store environment
- Ensure compliance with all store policies and safety procedures during daily operations
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
- Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is highly desirable
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Bilingual skills are beneficial for serving diverse customer bases effectively
- Strong communication skills to engage confidently with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Experience in product demos, upselling, merchandising, stocking, and retail sales transactions will set you apart
