What We’re Looking For:
-
Prepares the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the case type

Performs job for the age population served, as defined in the department’s scope of service

Minimum of 2 years surgical tech experience in CVOR cases
-
Other vascular experience preferred
-
Must be flexible to perform in other cases outside of this service line when necessary
-
Weekend and night call required

Licensed Practical Nurse, Nursing Student, Graduate of School of Nursing, Graduate of Surgical Technician School or equivalent experience preferred

Certification as a Surgical Technician preferred

What You Will Do:
Play a key role in the success of cardiac surgical procedures by supporting surgeons and the operating room team. Prepare surgical areas, assist during procedures, and help ensure excellent outcomes for every patient.

Works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse

Performs a variety of technical duties in the Operating Room to assist the surgical team

Prepares patient skin for surgery and maintains aseptic techniques

Provides comfort and support for pre-operative patients with sensitivity to care and privacy

Transports and positions patients based on the surgical procedure
-
Identifies and cares for biological specimens
-
Prepares Operating Room with instruments and supplies needed for the appropriate type of surgery or diagnostic examination.

Assists physicians and nurses with various procedures.

Assists in the provision of safe, positive surgical outcomes.

Maintains instruments and equipment in proper functioning order.

Performs all other duties as assigned.
