Are you ready to make a meaningful difference in women’s health? The Howard Center for Women’s Health is seeking an energetic, positive, and dependable Triage Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to providing exceptional patient care.
As a vital member of our clinical team, you will serve as a primary point of contact for patients calling with medical questions or concerns. Working under the direction of our providers, you will gather and document patient information, communicate patient concerns to the appropriate provider, relay provider-directed instructions, coordinate follow-up care, and help ensure patients receive timely and compassionate assistance.
We are seeking candidates with medical office or clinical experience who are comfortable communicating with patients, documenting accurately, and working closely with providers in a high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
- Answer patient phone calls and respond to patient messages.
- Gather and document patient-reported symptoms, concerns, and relevant information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Route patient concerns and clinical questions to the appropriate provider for review and direction.
- Relay provider recommendations and instructions to patients.
- Notify patients of lab and test results as directed by providers.
- Coordinate appointments and follow-up care as directed.
- Provide provider-directed patient education and instructions.
- Recognize concerns that may require prompt provider attention and escalate them appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with providers and clinical staff to support timely and efficient patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and protect patient confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the clinical team.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant experience or other relevant medical office/clinical experience required.
- Previous OB/GYN or women’s health experience is a plus.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Ability to follow provider direction and appropriately escalate patient concerns.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to exceptional patient care.
