We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys patient care, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and values teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.
Position Summary
The Ophthalmic Technician plays a critical role in supporting physicians and patients throughout the clinical visit. Responsibilities include patient workups, diagnostic testing, documentation, and assisting with efficient patient flow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain and document patient histories
- Perform visual acuity testing and preliminary examinations
- Prepare patients for physician evaluation
- Perform diagnostic testing, including OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and other ophthalmic testing as assigned
- Accurately document information within the electronic medical record
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
- Provide patient education and instructions regarding treatment plans and follow-up care
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies
- Support clinic operations while maintaining a high standard of patient service
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum two (2) years of ophthalmology experience
- Experience performing patient workups and ophthalmic diagnostic testing
- Strong computer and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)
- Experience with cataract and refractive surgery patients
- Experience with OCT, visual fields, and fundus photography
- Experience using an electronic medical record system

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
