A Relationship Banker is responsible for building customer relationships by providing financial solutions, opening new accounts, and identifying products and services that meet customers’ personal and business banking needs. They deliver exceptional customer service while helping the bank achieve sales and service goals.
Position Summary:
Provide personalized banking services to new and existing customers by opening and servicing deposit accounts and consumer installment loans, identifying financial needs, recommending appropriate banking products, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Build long-term relationships while supporting branch sales goals and ensuring compliance with banking regulations.
Responsibilities
- Process a variety of banking transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, cash handling, debits & credits, and loan payments.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, listening attentively, and addressing their financial needs with professionalism.
- Open and maintain customer and business checking, savings, money market, and certificate of deposit (CD) accounts.
- Conduct financial needs assessments to recommend appropriate banking products and services.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive outreach and follow-up.
- Cross-sell bank products and services to deepen customer relationships and meet branch performance goals.
- Educate customers on fraud prevention, account security, and digital banking tools.
- Detect and prevent fraud by monitoring transactions for suspicious activity and adhering to security protocols.
- Have an in-depth understanding of electronic banking products.
- Open and maintain IRA and HSA products for new and existing customers
- Maintain adequate knowledge of commercial products to perform the sale of commercial products and services
- Develop and manage treasury management relationships with business customers by identifying cash management needs and recommending tailored banking solutions.
- Promote treasury management products and services, including ACH origination, wire transfer, remote deposit capture, positive pay, merchant services, and online business banking.
- Assist customers in applying for non-commercial loans including, but not limited to: vehicle loans, recreational loans, HELOCs, and personal loans.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Competencies:
· Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Windows and Internet applications
· Ability to operate a 10-key calculator and other office equipment
· Perform duties in compliance with policy, procedure and process
· Self-motivation, attention to detail, and a strong aptitude for problem solving
· Ability to communicate professionally (orally, web-based and in writing)
· High level of accuracy and timeliness as well as the ability to multi-task and organize priorities
· Proven ability to cross sell bank products and services based on customer needs
· Ability to deliver a high level of responsiveness (customer service) to internal customers
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
