Background: Across the FBI, all training units, including the Training Division (TD), share a common mission: delivering training and professional development to the Bureau's workforce as well as its national security and law enforcement partners. TD plays a central role in this effort, guiding and supporting FBI Headquarters (HQ) and field divisions as they plan and carry out career development training. This encompasses curriculum, funding, instruction, evaluation, tracking, reporting, and implementation for FBI personnel and partner agencies. To meet these needs, the FBI seeks curriculum development services grounded in a systematic instructional systems design (ISD) process, as outlined in the FBI's Technical Manual for Training Development. These services must reflect proven expertise in task analysis, curriculum design and development, and instructor led training (ILT), while advancing the Bureau's strategic goal of building awareness and recognition of the FBI.
Position Description: II Corps Consultants, Inc. is looking for an Instructional Curriculum Design Specialist to create dynamic curriculum and impactful training content. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of instructional design methodologies, with demonstrated strength in training development, task analysis, and the design and delivery of instructor led training (ILT). In this role, you will assess training needs, craft targeted learning solutions, build curricula that advance learners from intermediate to advanced skill levels, and translate complex subject matter into clear, engaging, and effective learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and develop instructional materials meeting organizational training objectives
· Apply instructional design principles for effective learning outcomes
· Conduct task analyses to identify training requirements and learning objectives
· Design and develop instructor led training (ILT) courses and materials
· Develop training that supports intermediate and advanced skills progression
· Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex information
· Test and evaluate training materials for effectiveness
Job Requirements (minimum): Qualified candidates must have 5 – 10 years of experience as an Instructional Systems Designer, Curriculum Developer, or similar role, with a demonstrated understanding of training development (e.g., task analysis) and the design and development of instructor led training (ILT). Candidates need demonstrated experience developing training for intermediate and advanced skills progression, strong understanding of instructional design methodologies, excellent communication skills for collaborating with subject matter experts, and ability to manage multiple sensitive projects while maintaining security protocols. A bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field is required.
Highly Desired Skills: Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field. Knowledge of Section 508 Compliance and the application of accessibility standards to training and curriculum materials.
