Harahan, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Powder Coater for a metal fabrication company. This position is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal parts to meet quality standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with powder coating equipment, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality finished products. This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspecting parts prior to coating.
- Apply powder coating evenly using electrostatic spray equipment.
- Operate curing ovens and monitor temperatures and cycle times to ensure proper finish.
- Inspect coated parts for quality, coverage, thickness, and defects.
- Touch up or rework parts as needed to meet quality standards.
- Maintain powder coating equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow production schedules to meet daily output goals.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials throughout the production process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
- Previous powder coating or industrial painting experience preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment is a plus.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and production schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and powder coating equipment.
- Dependable with strong attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and industrial equipment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.
