Fleet & Maintenance Technician
Southeastern Conveyor Services is seeking a hands-on Fleet & Maintenance Technician to support our growing operations team. This position is responsible for maintaining company vehicles, trailers, equipment, and shop assets to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient support of our field crews and project operations.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, organized, and capable of troubleshooting a variety of vehicle and equipment issues in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Fleet Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on company vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and operational issues.
- Coordinate outside repairs and warranty work when necessary.
- Maintain service schedules and ensure all vehicles receive timely maintenance.
- Track vehicle registrations, tags, inspections, and maintenance records.
- Monitor fleet condition and recommend repair or replacement needs.
Equipment Maintenance
- Inspect, repair, and maintain:
· Forklifts
· Welders
· Generators
· Air compressors
· Power tools
· Material handling equipment
· Shop equipment
- Ensure equipment is operational and ready for deployment to job sites.
- Perform routine safety inspections and document findings.
Safety & Compliance
- Support compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
- Assist with vehicle incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Identify and address potential safety hazards related to fleet and equipment.
Inventory & Shop Support
- Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Order replacement parts and coordinate with vendors.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
- Support loading, unloading, and transportation of equipment as needed.
Requirements and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance, diesel mechanics, automotive repair, industrial maintenance, or related field.
- Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds and work indoors and outdoors.
Desired Skills:
- CDL Class A or B
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Forklift Certification
- ASE Certifications
- Experience maintaining heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and construction equipment
- Knowledge of DOT inspection requirements
- Comfort working in regulated environments (OSHA, MSHA, & DOT)
Normal hours are Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Occasionally, may require evenings or weekends.

Pay: $26.44 - $33.65 per hour
