We are looking for a proactive, detail-driven Dental Billing & Collections Specialist who takes ownership of their work, loves turning outstanding accounts into paid balances, and wants to grow with a premier practice.
The Role

You will head our billing and collections department, ensuring clean claim submissions, timely payments, and a clear, seamless financial experience for our patients. This is a strictly on-site position at our San Francisco office.
What You’ll Do
- Own the Billing Process: Efficiently submit, track, and audit all dental insurance claims with speed and precision to ensure rapid reimbursement.
- Manage Accounts Receivable: Stay aggressively on top of outstanding balances, manage the aging report, and diligently secure patient payments.
- Advocate for Claims: Work directly with insurance carriers daily to successfully appeal denials, research complex clauses, and clear up discrepancies.
- Keep Data Clean: Verify patient benefits, track frequency limitations, and maintain pristine, up-to-date financial records.
- Support the Team: Partner with the front office staff during peak times to answer phones, greet patients, and handle in-person billing inquiries with an empathetic, patient-first mindset.
What You Bring
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of dedicated experience in dental billing, insurance claims, and accounts receivable management (Preferred).
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of dental insurance codes, terminology, and handling complex denials.
- Skills: A sharp eye for detail, a knack for problem-solving, and professional communication skills.
- Communication: Exceptional phone etiquette with insurance representatives and a warm, professional presence with patients.
- Mindset: The ability to work independently to maximize revenue cycle results while staying deeply connected to the front office team's shared goals.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred: background or coursework in accounting/billing).
Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
