Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Barback to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced nightlife environment. The Barback will play a crucial role in supporting bartenders and ensuring the bar operates smoothly. This position involves maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and providing excellent customer service to enhance the overall guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist bartenders in preparing drinks and serving customers promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces.
- Stock and replenish bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and ice.
- Help with food preparation as needed, ensuring all items are ready for service.
- Buss tables and clear away used dishes and glassware efficiently.
- Operate POS systems (Aloha POS or Micros POS) for processing orders and payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with guests and staff.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while adhering to cash handling procedures.
- Support banquet operations during events, ensuring all food service needs are met.
Skills
- Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is preferred, with a focus on hospitality.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations within the food industry.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience in catering or banquet services is advantageous but not required.
- A background in cleaning and kitchen operations will be beneficial for this role.
