Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder to join our dynamic construction and fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welding tasks across various projects, ensuring all work aligns with safety standards, technical specifications, and industry codes. Your expertise will contribute to the successful installation, maintenance, and fabrication of piping systems, sprinkler systems, and structural components. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing your welding skills to build and maintain essential infrastructure.
Duties
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and pipe welding to join metal components according to blueprints and technical drawings
- Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and schematics to determine welding requirements and procedures
- Fabricate, cut, bend, and assemble piping systems using hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, and tube bending equipment
- Install fire sprinkler systems and pipefitting components adhering to NFPA standards and ASME codes & standards
- Ensure proper pipe installation through precise pipe threading, soldering, and fitting techniques while maintaining strict safety protocol adherence
- Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and perform inspections to ensure weld quality meets industry standards
- Follow safety regulations on construction sites by wearing appropriate PPE, practicing safe power tool usage, rigging procedures, and adhering to safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and pipe welding within construction or fabrication environments
- Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, technical drawings, and interpret specifications accurately
- Mechanical knowledge of pipe installation processes such as threading, soldering, tube bending, and pipefitting
- Familiarity with NFPA standards for fire sprinkler fitting and ASME codes & standards for pipeline fabrication
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and pipe threading machines safely and effectively
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to fabrication and assembly tasks
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to construction sites including power tool safety and fire prevention protocols
- Construction site experience with a focus on pipe installation or maintenance projects is highly preferred
