DePaul Cristo Rey High School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute to support our Freshman College Advising program. This position is slated for the 26-27 school year & is responsible for delivering an established college advising curriculum, teaching daily freshman classes, meeting individually with students, and fostering a positive, engaging learning environment. This role focuses on implementing existing content rather than developing new curriculum.
Core work:
- Teach four freshman College Advising classes each day using the established curriculum.

Utilize the existing Freshman/Sophomore curriculum and instructional materials.

Support freshman participation in established pre-college and summer program processes.

Collaborate with the College Advising team to ensure continuity of services for students.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred

Experience working with high school students, preferably in education, counseling, youth development, or a related field.

Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills.

Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom/Google Meet, and other educational technology.
Preferred experience:
- 3+ years of relevant, high-school teaching experience.

Bi-lingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
Student Supervision/Interaction:
- Adhere to the Decree on Child Protection requirements.

Complete monthly required Bulletin trainings per VIRTUS Child Protection standards.
