A Safe Place Child Enrichment Center is seeking dependable, nurturing, and qualified early childhood professionals to join our team. We currently have openings for an Early Childhood Floater, a Wake Three school Teacher Assistant, and a Community Classroom Lead Teacher.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS
Early Childhood Floater
Starting Pay: $15.00 per hour
The Early Childhood Floater provides classroom coverage and support throughout the center based on daily staffing and program needs. The ideal candidate will be flexible, dependable, and comfortable working with children of different ages.
Minimum Qualifications:
- EDU 119 or an equivalent early childhood credential
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Ability to provide effective supervision and maintain a safe classroom
- Flexibility to work in different classrooms as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet all DCDEE employment requirements
Wake Three School Teacher Assistant
Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour with a CDA
The Wake ThreeSchool Teacher Assistant works alongside the lead teacher to support classroom instruction, daily routines, child supervision, developmental activities, documentation, and implementation of the Wake ThreeSchool program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Child Development Associate credential required
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Previous early childhood classroom experience
- Ability to support lesson implementation, classroom routines, screenings, assessments, and program documentation
- Strong classroom-management, organization, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to meet Wake ThreeSchool and DCDEE employment requirements
Community Classroom Lead Teacher
Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour with a CDA or qualifying early childhood credential
The Community Classroom Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. The Lead Teacher plans and implements classroom activities, supervises children, maintains required documentation, and communicates regularly with families and administrators.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Child Development Associate credential or qualifying early childhood credential required
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Previous experience working in an early childhood classroom
- Experience developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
- Strong classroom-management, organization, and family-communication skills
- Ability to supervise and support an assistant teacher
- Ability to meet all DCDEE employment requirements
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Depending on the position, responsibilities may include:
- Providing attentive supervision and maintaining a safe classroom environment
- Supporting children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Implementing developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans
- Following classroom schedules, routines, and center procedures
- Maintaining accurate classroom and program documentation
- Communicating professionally with families, coworkers, and administrators
- Following health, safety, sanitation, and childcare licensing requirements
- Participating in required training and professional development
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Selected candidates must be able to:
- Complete or provide a qualifying DCDEE background check
- Submit a current staff medical report and tuberculosis screening
- Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification
- Complete required orientation and ongoing professional development
- Comply with all center policies and applicable childcare regulations
Starting pay is based on the selected position and required credential. Additional education, credentials, and relevant experience may be considered when determining final compensation.
