Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for order processing and cash handling
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service to ensure guest satisfaction from ordering to payment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation surfaces and equipment
- Handle food safety protocols and food handling procedures in accordance with health regulations
- Manage cash register operations accurately, including basic math calculations for transactions and change
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light menu items when needed
- Support sales goals by promoting menu items and upselling where appropriate
- Ensure all food industry standards are met through diligent food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or background in coffee service is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems Square is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in serving or food preparation within a café or retail environment is desirable
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
- Basic understanding of food industry standards related to cleanliness, safety, and hygiene
