Service Manager — Premier Luxury Import Dealership
Central Virginia | Full Time | Confidential Search
The Opportunity
A high-performing luxury import dealership in Central Virginia is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Service Manager to take an already-strong fixed operation to its next level. The store has a top-tier brand, a prime location in a growing market, a tenured and capable team, and a consistent record of strong performance. What it needs now is a proven fixed ops leader who can raise the ceiling — someone who looks at a good department and knows exactly how to make it great.
You'll have the full backing of ownership and a General Manager who understands fixed operations and invests in them.
What You'll Own
- Full leadership of the service department — the drive, the shop, and the P&L
- Effective labor rate (ELR) strategy: pricing discipline, discount control, and grid integrity
- Hours per RO growth through inspection process, advisor coaching, and menu presentation
- CSI performance above brand benchmarks — growth without sacrificing the customer experience
- Technician recruiting, retention, and development in a competitive labor market
- Advisor performance management, training, and accountability
- Shop loading, capacity planning, and production efficiency
- Customer-pay gross growth and fixed absorption
- Budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and warranty compliance
What You're Stepping Into
- A top-tier luxury franchise with strong factory support and training
- A tenured, skilled team — this department needs leadership, not a rebuild
- A modern facility in a prime location
- Ownership that invests in fixed operations and promotes from within
Who We're Looking For
- 5+ years leading a high-volume dealership service operation as a Service Manager; luxury/import experience strongly preferred
- A documented track record of improving ELR, hours per RO, and service gross while maintaining or exceeding CSI
- A leader who can earn the respect of a tenured team and raise standards without breaking the culture
- Fluency with modern DMS and service-lane tools (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, Xtime, or similar)
- A builder: technician pipelines, advisor development, and processes that outlast any one person
Compensation & Benefits
- [$200,000–$250,000+] total annual earning potential — competitive base plus performance incentives tied directly to fixed ops results
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k); paid time off
- Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
