Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Mortgage Lender to join our team. In this role, you will be the key driver in helping clients achieve their homeownership goals by guiding them through the mortgage process with expertise and enthusiasm. Your role will involve originating loans, assessing creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with all regulations while delivering exceptional customer service. Responsibilities
- Develop new mortgage business by actively engaging with prospective clients through networking, referrals, and community outreach.
- Guide clients through the entire loan origination process, including application, documentation collection, underwriting coordination, and loan processing.
- Conduct credit analysis and evaluate financial information using tools like FNMA guidelines and Quicken mortgage software to determine loan eligibility.
- Negotiate loan terms with clients while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations, TILA (Truth in Lending Act), and other federal or state laws.
- Collaborate with underwriters, escrow officers, and mortgage servicing teams to facilitate smooth loan approval and closing procedures.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of banking products, mortgage contracts, and financial software to provide accurate information and streamline workflows.
- Ensure all loan documentation adheres to regulatory standards and internal policies for accuracy and completeness.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of lending experience with a focus in mortgage lending
- Ability to make sound banking decisions, exhibit critical thinking, and reasoning ability
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively with attention to detail
- Identifying customer needs through service opportunities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; including, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- High School diploma or equivalent
- NMLS (Nationwide Multistate Licensing System) registration
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance
- 5+ years of lending experience in a banking environment originating loans
- Proven track record of managing relationships and developing new business
- Knowledge of lending policies, procedures and regulations
- Strong financial analysis and underwriting skills
