Pay: $13 per hour during training (approximately 1 week)
Post-training pay: up to $15.00 per hour plus tip-out (0.5% of all Front of House sales)
Lead Host pay: up to $18.00 per hour plus tip-out (with required certifications and ability to run a shift independently using OpenTable)

Position Summary
As a Host at The Boathouse at Short Pump, you are the first point of contact for our guests. You set the tone for their dining experience by greeting, seating, and assisting with professionalism and warmth. A successful Host communicates effectively, manages reservations and guest flow, and ensures every guest feels welcome.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and thank guests upon arrival and departure
- Manage reservations and waitlists (including providing accurate wait times)
- Provide menus, answer questions, and ensure a smooth handoff to servers
- Inform guests of current promotions or special offerings
- Answer phone calls, take reservations, and assist with inquiries
- Monitor the flow of guests into dining and bar areas
- Assist guests with special requests or accommodations
- Support other team members as needed to keep service running smoothly
- Maintain knowledge of the menu and restaurant offerings
- Complete assigned side work and responsibilities
- Deliver an outstanding guest experience every time

Growth Path
- Host – Training rate of $12.50/hr (approx. 1 week), then $13–$15/hr plus tip-out (0.5% of all FOH sales)
- Lead Host – Up to $18/hr plus tip-out once you can independently run a shift using OpenTable and complete certifications:

- Train the Trainer Certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent communication and guest-service skills
- Ability to multitask while staying professional under pressure
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems (Toast preferred)
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Eagerness to learn and take direction
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and go up and down stairs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- Strong listening and communication skills
Pay: $13.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
