Position Summary
The Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of the building and grounds of Walker Memorial Baptist Church, ensuring the facility is safe, clean, and prepared for worship services, meetings, and events.
Desired Qualifications / Experience
- Ability to read, write, and speak English in a clear and understandable manner.
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions, particularly when handling chemicals or operating machinery.
- Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Comfortable working in a church environment and engaging with church members, guests, and volunteers.
Working Conditions
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, lift, and move intermittently throughout the work period.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move items up to 25 pounds unassisted and up to 150 pounds with mechanical assistance.
- Exposure to cleaning products, outside weather conditions, odors, and slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Expected to maintain regular communication with the Board of Trustees and other church staff.

- Able to interact tactfully with church staff, volunteers, members, and guests.
- Must manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
- Must be in good general health and have a pleasant, cooperative disposition.
- Must have adequate vision, hearing, or approved assistive devices to meet job demands.
Primary Responsibilities
- Inspect and clean the sanctuary, classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.
- Coordinate seasonal maintenance tasks with supervisor (e.g., floor polishing, window screen, or door installation).
- Clear snow and ice from stairs and walkways as needed. Manage Snow removal vendor relationship.
- Replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.
- Set up and break down tables and chairs for services, meetings, and events.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recycling properly.
- Maintain lawns and shrubbery as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor, Assistant to the Pastor, or Board of Trustees, within the scope of the position.
- Must be available to work weekend, including Sunday mornings.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
