Sun Mechanical Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Coordinator to support our growing team. This position plays a key role in day-to-day accounting operations, vendor coordination, construction accounting support, and maintaining accurate financial records.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and support accounts payable functions
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper approvals and documentation
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, purchase orders, and payments
- Maintain vendor records, including W-9 compliance and 1099 reporting
- Prepare and file sales tax returns in multiple state jurisdictions
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain organized accounting and job cost records
- Process vendor credit applications
- Enter weekly timecards for job cost employees
- Assist with check runs, ACH payments, and financial reporting
- Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed
Qualifications Required
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Construction industry accounting experience strongly preferred
- Sage 100 experience strongly preferred
- Candidates with construction industry accounting and Sage 100 experience will receive priority consideration
- Experience with multi-state sales tax filings
- Notary Public certification
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience
Compensation above the posted range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications, including relevant construction industry accounting and Sage 100 experience.
Location: St. Charles, IL
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
