GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Materials Clerk is an indirect labor support position, reporting to the Quality and Distribution Manager. The Materials Clerk Position is a warehouse position that is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels for raw and finished goods at the Horizon warehouse. This includes receiving, inspecting, storing, staging, preparing and loading both raw materials and finished products as they move throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive incoming shipments by unloading delivery trucks and following the Receiving Process

Conduct continuous organization and rotation of material storage for first in first out use

Prepare finished goods pallets by restacking and wrapping as needed, load and prepare all paperwork for transfer to Distribution Warehouse

Replenish the production area with required raw material and restock unused raw material in a timely fashion using the Production Schedule and Work Order Travelers

Use ERP system to Production Track raw material into finished goods

Perform both scheduled and impromptu cycle counts to ensure raw and finished goods inventory accuracy

Pull orders and prepare product for shipment, including all labels, documents per customer’s instructions

Follows Quality Management processes and work instructions documented in QT9

Assist in maintaining scrap area and baling

Perform other related duties as required and assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
-
High school diploma or the equivalent is preferred
-
Two years’ experience as Forklift operator or related work experience is preferred
SKILLS
-
Must be organized and able to proactively prioritize and efficiently perform tasks

Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret job specific information, documents and procedures

Must have basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite products and other basic office equipment

Understand Bill of Materials and how it relates to raw materials and finished goods
- Ability to understand Quality Management processes and work instructions documented in QT9

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instruction

Must be able to obtain and maintain fork truck driver certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Individuals will need to sit, stand, or walk for long periods throughout the day

Must be able to reach above shoulder height, below the waist, or lift as required move materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required.

Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs

Hearing must be within the normal range for necessary radio usage

Vision must be correctable to safely perform all tasks.
