Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to preschool-aged children, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable.
- Lead classroom activities that promote social-emotional growth, behavior management, and child welfare while adhering to mandated reporting laws and safety protocols.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality classroom management and instructional delivery.
- Foster an inclusive environment that supports children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of child development progress through standardized testing, observations, and documentation to inform instruction and communicate with families.
- Manage daily classroom routines, including toddler care, preschool teaching activities, and childcare responsibilities to create a structured yet flexible learning environment.
- Collaborate with families to discuss developmental milestones, behavioral strategies, and educational goals through regular communication.
Skills
- Extensive experience in early childhood education with a focus on preschool teaching and classroom management.
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy education strategies.
- Knowledge of special education practices, early intervention techniques, and child development instruction.
- Proven ability to manage behavior effectively while fostering positive social interactions among children.
- Excellent communication skills for working with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods, standardized testing procedures, and preschool experience preferred.
