As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Structural Engineer to join our team in Auburn, Indiana.
We are primarily seeking a full-time engineer; however, we are open to considering part-time candidates with the right qualifications, experience, and availability.
The Opportunity
As a Structural Engineer with BES, you will work on a variety of projects involving structural steel, light-framed steel, wood, concrete, foundations, connections, and existing structures.
Depending on your experience level, you will work alongside our engineering and design team while developing increasing responsibility for structural analysis, design, project coordination, and client communication.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary based on experience and may include:
- Perform structural analysis and design for commercial and other building projects.
- Design and evaluate structural steel, light-framed steel, wood, concrete, foundations, and related structural systems.
- Assist with the design of connections, anchors, fasteners, and engineered systems.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, details, and engineering documentation.
- Review architectural and construction drawings.
- Develop practical engineering solutions while considering constructability, cost, schedule, and project requirements.
- Respond to technical questions from clients, contractors, and project team members.
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, contractors, architects, and clients.
- Participate in structural inspections, field evaluations, and site visits as needed.
- Manage assigned projects and responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline OR currently pursuing an applicable engineering degree for qualified part-time/student candidates.
- Strong understanding of engineering and structural design principles appropriate to the candidate's education and experience level.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and construction drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) certification.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to pursue PE licensure.
- Experience with structural steel, light-framed steel, wood, and/or concrete construction.
- Knowledge of structural connections, anchors, fasteners, and engineered systems.
- AutoCAD or similar drafting/design software experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Previous engineering internship, co-op, construction, or structural design experience.

Full-time engineers will have opportunities to develop experience across multiple areas of structural engineering, participate in field evaluations, work directly with clients and contractors, and take on increasing project responsibility as they grow with the company.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
