Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various accounting software and financial concepts, with the ability to handle multiple bookkeeping tasks efficiently. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our financial data, supporting compliance, and providing insightful financial reports to assist in strategic decision-making.
Duties
- Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including financial statement writing and budget analysis.
- Process payroll using appropriate software and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
- Assist with governmental accounting tasks, tax preparation, and audit support as needed.
- Support budgeting processes by analyzing expenses and revenue trends.
- Conduct double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records across all accounts.
Requirements
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and financial concepts.
- Experience with governmental accounting, nonprofit accounting, or public accounting is a plus.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll management.
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
- Familiarity with tax regulations related to business accounting.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry (including 10 key typing skills).
- Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial documentation and reports.
