Job Summary: Transtech Engineers, Inc. is requesting resumes for a Permit Technician opportunity! Disclaimer this position is posted for the South East Los Angeles region also referred to as the "gateway cities" area.
The qualified candidate must have knowledge of City organization, operations, policies, procedures, customer service standards, and protocols.
Skills:
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Customer Service skills including good with people, position will require constant interaction with the public
- Entering information into a computer system with speed and accuracy and maintaining electronic files
- Providing effective customer service and dealing tactfully and courteously with the public
- Maintaining accurate and interrelated technical records
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers and the public
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Willing to train
Knowledge of:
- City organization, operations, policies, and procedures
- Customer service standards and protocols
- Basic principles of application permitting
- Applicable City, County, State, and Federal laws, codes, and regulations
- Business and personal computers, and standard software applications
- Record keeping and file maintenance principles and procedures
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Minimum of 1-year Experience as a Permit Technician with a private or public agency
- Preferred: Certification from the International Code Council (ICC) as a Permit Technician or ability to obtain within three months of employment
Salary will depend on qualifications.
This position is open to candidates located in the Lakewood, CA Area as well.
