Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. This position offers a $10k SIGN ON BONUS on top of relocation assistance. In this vital role, you will provide specialized respiratory care to patients across various clinical settings, including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care units, neonatal and pediatric units, and outpatient clinics. Your expertise will support patient recovery by managing respiratory conditions, operating advanced respiratory equipment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a thorough understanding of physiology and medical terminology, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in fast-paced environments.
Duties
- Assess patients’ respiratory status through detailed evaluations of vital signs, lung sounds, and medical history to determine appropriate interventions.
- Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery, aerosol treatments, and medication administration tailored to individual patient needs.
- Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory devices for patients across ICU, NICU, PICU, and surgical settings.
- Manage airway procedures including intubation, extubation, and airway clearance techniques with precision and safety.
- Respond promptly to cardiac arrest emergencies and participate in emergency response protocols to stabilize critically ill patients.
- Monitor patients’ response to therapies using electronic health records (EHR) systems and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, device usage, and post-discharge care strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans aligned with best practices in critical & intensive care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures performed, patient progress, and equipment usage in compliance with hospital policies.
- Ensure all respiratory equipment is properly sterilized, maintained, and operated according to manufacturer guidelines.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from an accredited certifying body.
- Proven experience in hospital environments such as ICU, NICU, PICU, emergency departments, or surgical units.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ventilator management, airway management techniques, and respiratory therapy procedures.
- Strong knowledge of physiology related to pulmonary function and anatomy.
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation and patient tracking.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to respiratory care and critical & intensive care settings.
- Ability to perform under pressure during emergencies such as cardiac arrests or trauma situations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication abilities.
- Technical proficiency with medical equipment operation including ventilators and respiratory devices across diverse patient populations such as neonates, pediatrics, geriatrics, and trauma cases.
