Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the daily inspection and "final stamp of approval" on all guest rooms and public areas. You will lead, coach, and support the housekeeping team to ensure both properties maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and brand compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires an eye for detail and the ability to motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control: Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, hallways, and public spaces to ensure they meet (and exceed) brand standards before being released to the Front Desk.
- Team Coaching: Train new hires and provide ongoing "on-the-spot" coaching to Room Attendants and Housepersons to improve efficiency and quality.
- Workflow Management: Assist in assigning daily room boards and managing the "turn" process to ensure clean rooms are available for early check-ins.
- Inventory & Supplies: Monitor linen levels and cleaning supplies; assist in conducting monthly inventories and reporting needs to management.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all team members are using chemicals safely (SDS compliance) and following proper ergonomic procedures to prevent injury.
- Technical Liaison: Work closely with the maintenance team to report and follow up on room repairs or "out of order" status.
- Guest Satisfaction: Address guest complaints regarding cleanliness immediately and ensure a "perfect recovery" for the guest.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in hotel housekeeping, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or "Lead" role preferred.
- Detail Oriented: An obsession with cleanliness—you notice the things others miss (like dust on a high ledge or a smudge on a remote).
- Leadership: The ability to lead by example and maintain high morale during "heavy" days (high occupancy or checkout days).
- Communication: Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or other) are often a major advantage in this role.
- Physicality: Ability to move quickly between floors and properties, and stand/walk for the duration of the shift.
