Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team for a newly opening residential group home in Virginia. DSPs provide direct care and support to individual with emotional and behavioral health, helping resident's live safe, independent, and fulfilling lives in a supportive home environment.
The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, professional, and committed to providing high-quality person-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Assist resident with daily living activities including, grooming, meal preparation, laundry, household chores
- Monitor residents’ physical, emotional, and behavioral health status and report concerns appropriately
- Maintain accurate documentation, medication records, incident reports, and daily progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and agency requirements
- Administer medication
- Support residents with community participation, recreational activities, and social engagement
- Maintain accurate documentation and daily progress notes
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all residents
- Follow individualized care plans and behavioral support plans
- Perform light housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized environment
- Assist with transportation to appointment, activities, and outing when required
- Respond appropriately during emergencies, and behavioral situations
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, families, and other team members.
Skills
- Registered Behavioral Health Technician OR DSP who completed approved medication administration training OR QMHP with medication administration training/authorization
- Completion of Virginia-approved medication administration training required for medication administration duties
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire
- Previous experience in healthcare, caregiving, behavioral health, human services, or residential/group home settings preferred
- Experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional demeanor
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during behavioral or emergency situations
Hiring Shifts
- 7am-3pm, with rotating weekends
- 3pm-11pm, with rotating weekends
- 11pm-7am, with rotating weekends
- PRN, as needed

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
