Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team in a nursing home setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a commitment to providing high-quality meals for our residents. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a crucial role in the dietary department, ensuring that all food preparation meets the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents in an assisted living environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Collaborate with the dietary aide and nursing staff to ensure that resident dietary needs are met.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Assist with menu planning, taking into consideration resident preferences and nutritional requirements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to resident requests and feedback regarding meals.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of dietary practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably within the food industry or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with dietary needs specific to nursing home or assisted living environments is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment operation.
- Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being able to work independently when required.
