- Possess or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in instrumental music, Prek-12.
- Bachelors/Masters Degree in music or music education with emphasis in instrumental music.
- Suzuki teacher training and SAA membership is strongly encouraged.
- Experience teaching beginner techniques in all strings instruments is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Suzuki-based string instruction methods
- Knowledge of elementary music education and classroom management practices
- Skill in teaching group string instruction
- Skill in collaboration and parent communication
- Ability to manage instruments and program logistics
- Ability to contribute positively to professional learning communities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Travel within school division.
