Join our dynamic team as a Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a range of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. As a vital part of our logistics operation, you will navigate over-the-road (OTR) routes, manage cargo handling, and deliver exceptional service to our customers. Your expertise in commercial truck driving will help us maintain our reputation for reliability and excellence in transportation.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Plan and execute route driving using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across OTR routes.
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport.
- Transport hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Manage automobile transportation tasks when required, including vehicle loading, securing, and delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate delivery schedules and address any route or cargo issues promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving roles.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and tractor-trailers.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and handle manual loading/unloading procedures.
- Skilled in using GPS navigation tools for efficient route planning on OTR routes.
- Experience with logistics cargo handling and managing freight securely during transit.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; previous delivery driver experience is highly valued.
- Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols while managing dangerous goods or hazardous materials transportation.
