We are seeking a highly motivated and technically precise Configuration Management Engineer to drive the creation, refinement, and tool integration of our enterprise Global Configuration Management Framework. Operating within a mature Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environment, this role focuses heavily on process development, workflow testing, and requirement verification.
The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between abstract business needs and strict functional compliance, creating a seamless digital thread across software, hardware, and systems engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Process & Workflow Design: Design, develop, and maintain rigorous configuration management process artifacts, lifecycle milestones, and automated workflows.
- Tool Integration & Architecture: Mainstream the integration of primary engineering tools, ensuring traceability and data integrity between MBSE tools, PLM platforms, and issue tracking suites.
- Requirement Verification: Perform requirement verification, validation, and evaluation to ensure total compliance with functional and project needs.
- Digital Thread Development: Translate abstract business objectives into clear, traceable requirements, connecting data flows across product lifecycles.
- Model-Based Development: Develop conceptual and detailed process models using advanced systems engineering modeling tools.
- Adoption & Training: Create practical training materials, playbooks, and documentation to support and accelerate tooling adoption across cross-functional engineering teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- Multi-Disciplinary Exposure: Proven experience supporting and driving configuration control across multiple engineering disciplines, including systems, software, hardware, and product testing.
- Systems & PLM Fluency: Strong, hands-on expertise in at least one of the following tools and familiarity across the ecosystem:
- MBSE Tools: Cameo / Rhapsody
- PLM/PDM Platforms: PTC Windchill
- Lifecycle & Tracking Tools: Jira, DOORS Next, IBM ELM Suite (GCM, ETM, EWM)
- Traceability Integration: Demonstrated ability to apply configuration control principles to drive the development and architecture of complex, digital solutions.
Desired Skills (Preferred)
- PLM Lifecycle Mastery: Deep knowledge of core PLM concepts, including change notices (ECN/ECO), revision lifecycles, object type limitations, and object-linking functionality.
- Digital Thread Connectivity: Direct experience utilizing OSLC (Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration) links to connect disparate databases and engineering tools.
