About Us
Green Nile Dispensary is a social equity licensed cannabis dispensary in Derwood, Maryland, serving both registered medical patients and adult-use customers.
Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager with vendor onboarding, product ordering, and menu planning.
- Implement and enforce our SOPs — sales floor, patient intake, cash handling, waste disposal, and security.
- Hire, onboard, schedule, and coach the budtender team.
- Serve as manager on duty: open and close the store, lead shifts, and act as the responsible manager in the General Manager's absence.
- Ensure compliance with MCA guidelines and regulations — ID verification, purchase limits, product handling, recordkeeping, and signage.
- Support METRC and POS reconciliation and manage cash controls — drawer counts, safe reconciliation, and deposits. Investigate and document every variance.
- Track sales, average basket, and discount rate; report results to the General Manager.
- Handle escalated customer issues and security incidents; complete incident reports.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of retail, hospitality, or service supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience scheduling, coaching, and holding a team accountable.
- Comfortable with POS reporting, scheduling tools, and spreadsheets.
- Willingness to enforce compliance rules consistently.
Preferred
- Experience opening a new retail location.
- Prior licensed dispensary experience; working knowledge of MCA guidelines, regulations, and METRC. Experience in another regulated retail environment (pharmacy, alcohol, firearms) also accepted.
Maryland Requirements
You must register as a Cannabis Agent with the Maryland Cannabis Administration. We initiate the registration and cover the card fee, fingerprint background check, and required training. Maryland law does not permit denial of registration based solely on a cannabis offense before July 1, 2023.
Physical Requirements
Standing and walking for extended periods; repetitive squatting, bending, and kneeling; lifting up to 30 lbs. (100 lbs. with assistance). Exposure to cannabis plant material and terpene aromas.
