About the Opportunity
You will begin by assisting in the care of one friendly 79-year-old female resident with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) in a private home located in the Hemet / San Jacinto area.
This is not a nursing facility. You will be caring for one resident in a peaceful, family environment. RCFE licensing pending.
The position includes:
- Private furnished bedroom
- Meals provided
- Quiet, smoke-free home
- Supportive training environment
- Structured daily routine
- Afternoon personal time while the resident naps
- Optional Saturday work at $20.00 per hour
- Additional compensation when overnight coverage is needed during my occasional travel
About the Resident
The resident is a gentle, friendly 79-year-old woman (98 pounds) living with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). She requires total assistance with activities of daily living and uses a wheelchair for mobility.
Hospice nurses provide ongoing support, and a hospice bath aide visits twice each week.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Preparing meals
- Feeding assistance
- Dressing and personal care
- Wheelchair assistance
- Light housekeeping related to resident care
- Conversation, companionship, and engaging activities
- Accompanying the resident to appointments and activities as your training progresses
Your Career Path
This is a paid live-in apprenticeship designed to develop a future Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) Administrator.
Phase I – Apprenticeship (First 90 Days)
During your first 90 days, you will receive:
- Private furnished bedroom
- Meals
- Employer-paid training
- Monthly training stipend of $600
- One-on-one mentoring
- Hands-on caregiving instruction
Phase II – Caregiver
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship:
- Monthly compensation increases to $1,200
- Increased caregiving responsibilities
- Greater independence in resident care
- Continued mentoring and professional development
Phase III – RCFE Administrator
As our six-bedroom home becomes licensed as a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE), you will be eligible to advance into the Administrator role.
Compensation increases to $2,500 per month, together with room and board, while serving as both:Optional Independent status $3500 per month.
- RCFE Administrator
- Lead Caregiver / Care Supervisor
Responsibilities will include:
- Supervising resident care
- Coordinating caregivers
- Scheduling
- Medication oversight (within applicable regulations and training)
- Assisting with admissions
- Maintaining a warm, compassionate home environment
- Working alongside the owner in developing and operating the licensed RCFE
Professional Training Provided
All required training is provided at no cost to you, including:
- Hands-on caregiving instruction
- First Aid Certification (Employer Paid)
- CPR Certification (Employer Paid)
- Medication assistance training
- Employer-paid RCFE Administrator Certification
