Job Overview
The Shipping & Logistics Associate is an essential function within the organization that ensures outgoing orders are prepared and shipped on time and accurately for government and commercial customers. The role involves preparing orders for shipment, creating labels and shipping documents, and interacting with order tracking software. The associate will be responsible for checking that each order is prepared correctly. Physical tasks involve moving small to medium boxes within the building to prepare for pickup. Written and oral communication skills are very important for effectively working with coworkers, customers and shipping companies. A confident and clear communicator is required to advocate for the company in the event of problems and disputes with shipping companies.
Responsibilities
- Communicate via email, phone, and in-person with coworkers, customers, and shipping companies
- Enter data into computer systems and interact with software
- Prepare labels and paperwork for outgoing shipments
- Carefully check that each outgoing shipment is prepared correctly
- Physically move small to medium boxes for pickup
- Assist with any tasks assigned by the manager, regardless of size
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Fluency in English
- Strong Written and Oral Communication – explains information clearly; writes clear, concise emails; speaks on the phone with professionalism, is able to comprehend detailed government shipping requirements to ensure compliance.
- Confidence: advocates for the company in the event of shipping problems and disputes
- Organization: keeps records up to date, retrieves information quickly, follows procedures consistently
- Multi-Tasking: prioritizes tasks based on demands from various sources

- Computer Literacy: is proficient with Windows and Microsoft Excel and Word, has competent keyboard skills and enters data accurately and quickly

Pay: $20.00 per hour
