Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Grade 3-5 Special Education Teacher to join our close-knit private school community. In this role, you will develop and implement engaging curricula, support students with diverse learning needs, and collaborate closely with staff, families, and specialists to promote academic success and social-emotional development for children in early childhood through upper elementary grades. LWTB School partners with our ABA Clinic for in-classroom support for students who receive this service.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with learning goals across core subjects such as literacy, math, and social skills.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of students with disabilities, including autism, developmental delays, and other learning differences.
- Conduct assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly; utilize standardized testing results effectively.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, ABA specialists, occupational therapists and other professionals to support comprehensive student development.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques and create a supportive learning environment.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and communication logs with families.
- Incorporate social skills training and behavioral therapy strategies into daily activities to foster independence and confidence.
Qualifications
- Valid teaching certification in special education for grades 3-5 or equivalent credentials is preferred.
- Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities in a private school or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, behavioral health, early intervention strategies, and curriculum development.
- Familiarity with speech therapy and occupational therapy techniques, ABA therapy, literacy education, math instruction, and behavioral management tools.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, and specialists.
- Experience conducting assessments aligned with educational standards.

Pay: $47,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
