Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax accounting and financial planning, with the ability to navigate complex tax regulations and provide strategic insights for our clients. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in accounting software and public accounting practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Duties
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to identify tax-saving opportunities for clients.
- Assist in the development of tax strategies that align with clients' financial goals, including private equity investments and financial sales initiatives.
- Manage general ledger reconciliation processes to maintain accurate financial records.
- Collaborate with other accounting professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to technical accounting standards.
- Provide guidance on financial planning matters, helping clients make informed investment decisions.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact client accounts or business operations.
- Mentor junior staff members, providing training on best practices in tax preparation and accounting software usage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting or a similar role focused on tax accounting.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and financial accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software applications; experience with advanced financial tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Experience in private equity or financial planning is highly desirable but not mandatory.
