JOB TITLE: Associate Director of Education @ Schools
DIVISION: Learning Center
REPORTS TO: Director of Education and/or Center Director
GENERAL SUMMARY
As a successful Associate Director of Education or Director of Education in our @ Schools Contracts team, your primary responsibility will be to champion the Sylvan developed curriculum, manage and ensure the quality of the education standards and teaching staff, partner with local schools and school administrators and grow the business.
As a successful Associate or Director of Education, you will:
- Participate in the enrollment process of new and potential families, including successfully handling initial phone inquiries from parents, as well as consultations
- Keep parents informed on program progress by writing and performing monthly ongoing conferences
- Work on recommendations to alter program prescriptions or offer additional programs
- Schedule teachers and staff using labor standards as a guide
Manage & Train:
- Participate in selecting, hiring, training & motivating all certified instructors, teachers and educational staff
- Contribute to center profitability by controlling labor budget through managing instructor staffing levels and schedules
- Partner with the Center Director and Senior Director of Education to run operations
- Training all educational staff making sure they are Sylvan certified; ongoing coaching and reviews
Ensure Educational Integrity:
- Administer Sylvan Skills Assessments; analyze and interpret results
- Write and recommend goal-based programs for Sylvan students as well as monitor programs for performance.
- Establish relationships and communications with students’ teachers for insights on school progress
- Create positive learning environment by modeling motivational behavior in the center for staff, students and parents, during all phases of the instructional program.
We require:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- A teaching credential (current or expired) preferred; or enrolled in credentialing program
- A minimum of 2 years teaching experience
- Excellent verbal communication and persuasive skills, and the ability to build relationships
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to work evening hours and some Saturdays

To advance to Director of Education, for at least 1 year ADEs must:
- Consistently manage labor to meet profitability monthly
By showing that you can manage these things for at least a year, we can look at making the transition to Director of Education.
